Relationship with Nature determines the quality of our lives and world. We will review some basic principles of applied ecopsychology, get out doors for some experiential activities with Nature, journal, relax with a special guided meditation, and enjoy some discussion. You will learn the Natural Systems Thinking Process, an elegant tool you can use anytime (solo, or with friends) to deepen your connection with the wisdom of the natural world.

Dabrowksi Theory and the HSP
Kasimir Dabrowski's development theories have particular applicability to understanding the life experiences of HSPs. The theory identifies inborn 'overexcitabilities' (OEs) that can facilitate the achievement of higher levels of development via "positive disintegration," potentially leading individuals to develop higher levels of self-awareness and self-actualization. Dabrowski theory provides a hopeful way of understanding what can be painful and overwhelming experiences. In this session, participants will learn about the theory and have the opportunity to consider its applicability to their life experiences.

Stephanie T. Machell, Psy.D., is a psychologist practicing in the greater Boston area and an HSP. She specializes in working with severe trauma, physical disability/chronic illness, and giftedness. The majority of her clients are HSPs. She leads continuing education workshops on giftedness which include the HSP concept.
